Mixed Movement Arts Big Picture & Practical Practices
Saturday, September 5 4:30-7:30pm SHIFT Studio in Wallingford followed by Enstatic Dance at 7:45 (Workshop registration includes the dance.)
Exploring the full spectrum of the Mixed Movement Arts practice: RESET & the NeuroFascial Toolkit, mobility & creative strength, and movement freedom in improvisation.
After several years in Colorado, I'm happy to be back in Seattle — and this is the first gathering to share the evolution of Mixed Movement Arts. Whether you practiced with me before or you've never heard of any of this, you're in the right room.
Mixed Movement Arts is built on three domains, and this workshop moves through all of them:
RESET We start with the NeuroFascial Toolkit — Fascial Maneuvers, pandiculation, shake/skin/spine work. Slow counter-rotation, staged breath, strategic pressure. This is the layer that changes your state, rehydrates tissue, and gets your nervous system out of its defensive holding pattern.
Mobility & Creative Strength The most effective methods or strong flexibility — usable range you can actually load, not passive stretching.
Movement Freedom Then we play. Improvisation, locomotion, floorwork. Learning vocabulary in isolation, then integrating the techniques, with the end goal being improvisation with more freedom and enjoyment.
This is a nonlinear practice
Enstatic Dance follows at 7:45. Everything we build in the workshop gets somewhere to go. Chill, downtempo, contact-friendly, no instruction. Move however feels authentic to where you are.
Who this is for: anyone with a body. No experience needed, no flexibility prerequisite, nothing to keep up with. Come as you are.
$75 — sliding scale $55–95, Enstatic Dance included (people can also register just for the dance).
If $95 is easy, it covers someone at $55. If $55 isn't reachable, email me at dae@mixedmovementarts.com — I hold spots for financial need and work trade.
